IAHR is part of the leadership team that convenes the Maryland Prisoners’ Rights Coalition, a growing association of 21 organizations advocating for humane treatment of those who are incarcerated. Additionally, IAHR participates in the Greater Baltimore Grass Roots Criminal Justice Network and the Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform.
IAHR is a founding member of the Virginia Coalition Against Solitary Confinement. Partners include ACLU-VA, National Association of the Mentally Ill (NAMI), Social Action Linking Together (S.A.L.T.), Virginia CURE, Social Workers Against Solitary Confinement, Amnesty International-VA, Virginian Prison Justice Network, and concerned citizens.
IAHR also participates in several criminal justice coalitions in the District of Columbia. They are the DC Reentry Task Force and Rethink Justice. These coalitions represent activists, non-profit organizations, and government agencies such as the Public Defender Service.
